God spoke to His people from the top of the mountain saying, I am the Lord your God that brought you out of the land of Egypt, away from being slaves.

You will have no other gods but Me. Do not carve any statues like anything in heaven or earth or in the waters. Do not bow down to or serve anyone but Me. I made you and you are Mine.

I pay back those that hate me and show My great love to the many thousands that love me and follow what I say.

Do not use my name for empty things. Remember to rest on My rest day. Do your work six days and rest celebrating me on the seventh day. Everyone with you rests, even your animals because in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth and rested on the seventh day and filled the seventh day with special happiness.

Hold high in your hearts your father and mother so that you will live long in the special land the Lord God gives you.

Do not murder anyone. Do not join your body with your neighbor’s wife. Do not take anything that belongs to someone else. Do not tell things about others that are not true. Do not wish you had other peoples stuff.

The people saw the thunderings and lightnings and the noise of the trumpet and moved far back. They said to Moses, You talk to us. Do not let God talk to us or we will die.

Moses said, Don’t be afraid. God has come to test you to make sure that you always hold Him high in your hearts and do not turn against Him. He wants so much to bless you.

Then Moses went near the thick darkness where God was. The Lord said to Moses, You see that I talk with you from heaven. Do not make gods of silver or gold, that is not Me.

God told Moses rules about how to be fair in everything so that the bad one will be stopped and all His people could be happy all their lives.
